A fat for high temperatures Due to its neutral flavor, Dr. Goerg Premium Organic Coconut Cooking Fat can be used for sautéing, baking, cooking and as a substitute for butter. Due to its high smoke point (234°C) it is suitable for French fries and other deep fried foods. That way you can even prepare tempura and other fried dishes in an optimal manner. It doesnt contain any trans fatty acids or preservatives and therefore constitutes a healthy alternative to other frying and baking fats. The difference between our Premium Raw Organic Virgin Coconut Oil and our Premium Organic Coconut Cooking Fat in a different treatment during the manufacturing process. Coconut cooking fat which is steam deodorised in order to remove the volatile flavor components. This way our neutrally flavored Premium Organic Virgin Coconut Cooking Fat is obtained. Due to the contact with hot steam, the cooking fat loses its raw food quality. However, for the intended purposes of coconut cooking fat - baking, sautéing, deep frying etc. - raw food quality is not needed since these methods entail heating the food at high temperatures. The coconut cooking fat is ideally suited for such high-heat-purposes due to its high smoke point of 234 °C.
